Thanksgiving Trip – New Mexico

With the holiday’s way behind us, in true late fashion I finally got around to doing this blog post! Thanksgiving was a great time for us because we got to road trip through New Mexico and visit family along the way! New Mexico referred to as “The Land of Enchantment” is host to wide open skies and beautiful desert landscape. All things desert hold a special place in our hearts because we are from El Paso, TX which is a desert city. Nonetheless, this post is about a few of the highlights of our trip and it is accompanied with a video so we could share our journey with you!

White Sands National Monument

There really is nothing like White Sands around the world (that we know of). The sand is a pure white and it looks and feels like you’re on another planet. It definitely is a great spot to visit with family, write your name in the sand, or have a candid photo-shoot!IMG_1024

Meow Wolf (Santa Fe, NM)

IMG_1067Stationed in an old bowling alley, Meow Wolf takes visitors to an alternate dimension and gets them questioning reality. Think of it as one big interactive art installation with subsections which challenge your imagination. The themes and designs are all unique from each other but they share one thing in common, they captivate you. We had the opportunity to slide down a washing machine and walk through a refrigerator, what more needs to be said?

Sandia Park Mountain

As we travel more and more, we like to find natural landmarks. It’s our way of fully understanding where we are and the beauty of it. While our time was limited, instead of hiking up the mountain we took the scenic drive to the top of the mountain. When we got to the viewing spot we were absolutely stunned by the beautiful views! We were able to see for hundreds of and admire the state as a whole. We highly recommend visiting Sandia Park Mountain if you’re in the Albuquerque area!

“The road is our home,” is a saying both Ana and I share because we look forward to road trips, exploring, and new adventures. No matter how small or large, we highly recommend you to take a trip somewhere new and explore. You’ll never know what you’ll find physically but we know you will find peace doing it!
